An ode to the agrarian and potatoes
Dutch daily Dagblad van het Noorden (DvhN) has chosen to take to countryside lanes. In a collaboration with PeerGrouP, the paper is putting itself into farmer shoes. Farmers struggle with ever-changing regulations and legislation, and difficult questions involving their future. PeerGrouP created a show called Maalkop (head mill) on this theme, while DvhN involved itself with related programme events together with parties closely involved in these issues.
A following hour is devoted to the potato (nicknamed pieper in Dutch, pronounced peeper). Jacques Hermus, culinary journalist and DvhN restaurant critic, is the son of a potato farmer. So it should come as no surprise that he has delved deep into the history of the spud, following its journey from strange Andean nugget to serving as inspiration for Vincent Van Gogh. Hermus has all the dirt on Groningen heirloom potatoes!

Exposition is freely accessible.
