Man at the controls strikes a touching chord
Casper Rossing going by the name of Dotlights spends his days at home crafting dreamy songs. Performing live he uses a sampler and all sorts of loops to give his guitar playing full rein. Dotlights doesn't need vocals to impress, he does that with an old-fashioned wall of sound, carefully constructed in close concentration, layer by layer. Samples and minimalist beats are the proverbial cherry on the cake.
“Thanks to his compositions and minimalist setup of guitar and samplers, he manages to easily evade post-rock clichés and to create that spacious reverberation that the east of the country knows so well.”
