Exhilarating dance clash between classic and modern and East and West

Choreographer and dramaturge Arco Renz has been travelling the world for years, searching out other dance cultures. He has often worked with Asian dancers and choreographers, such as Filipino Eisa Jocson, who has twice been at Noorderzon in recent years. In his work, Renz is on the lookout for artistic exchange between dance types that do not easily encounter each other, with new forms of dance as a result. For Hanoi Stardust, Renz collaborated with Vietnamese dancers Nguyen Duy Thanh, Khai Ngoc Vu and the Vietnam National Opera Ballet. The result is an exciting and energetic meeting between two major dance languages: classical ballet and hip hop. All this seen from the perspective of a young and dynamic Vietnamese society.
