Julian Hetzel | The Benefactor
“We should not cut funding to the arts. We should raise it. But first, I think that we can pay for culture by cutting back on development aid!". Inspired by this statement of the Dutch politician Frits Bolkestein, referring to the budget cuts in the field of art and culture in The Netherlands, Julian Hetzel developed a project about the radical alternative use of cultural money. He donated his entire project budget to a starving child in Africa. Julian Hetzel explores the thin line between life and art and raises questions about the ethics of success in society.
