Concert at het Dok

Amsterdam, the Netherlands

Jack McKain

The best of the Netherlands
In April they were the first Dutch ever to play Coachella, one of the biggest music festivals in the United States. That means you’re doing something extremely well. And that is certainly the case, because Klangstof, Koen van de Wardt's (Moss) new project is touring the world this year supporting The Flaming Lips, Jagwar Ma (who played Het Dok in 2014) and Miike Snow. Strongly influenced by Radiohead, Van de Wardt – who grew up in Norway, where two of his band members also hail from – makes beautiful songs, full of synths, guitar and drums, accompanied by his unique vocals. In an interview with 3FM, he said that he hopes that Klangstof will also begin to appeal more in the Netherlands. If it's up to us this will be the case – we’re really looking forward to a sultry summer evening full of dreamy, catchy and sometimes very danceable soundscapes.

“If you love Radiohead, Pink Floyd, My Morning Jacket, Mercury Rev and all of the amazing musicians which take songs into a more widescreen environment, and you get to know Klangstof. It’s called ‘We Are Your Receiver.’"
