Kicking it with the young guys from Parcels
Based on their music and looks, you might expect the Australian band Parcels to be from the seventies, but no. The five guys are all under the age of 23 and debuted last year with the EP Clockshared, which they recorded and produced in their very own bedrooms. It immediately drew the attention of hip label Kitsuné, where they released their EP, Hideout EP, earlier this year. Now, just a few months after its release, they are already renowned for their live sets, and are being compared to Daft Punk and Chic. Particularly the last comparison is unsurprising, given their mix of funk, pop, electro, disco and soul, making it impossible not to dance.
“Their live set is consistently energetic. A different, more organic spin on their tracks provides an electronic disco party reminiscent of UK group, Jungle yet also resembling the soul of early Chic. Captivating, energetic and musically impressive.”
