Parker Millsap

Roots talent from the American South
A shady porch, chirping crickets and parched meadows spreading as far as the eye can see. Such cinematic images of the American South are conjured up when listening to the music of Parker Millsap. On his third studio album, The Very Last Day, the singer-songwriter seamlessly melds together music styles such as blues, country and Americana into a rootsy blend. Millsap’s unique soul-drenched voice rasps out everything from hard-hitting tales to enamoured duets, and he can yodel too. And then he plays a fine guitar, harmonica and banjo as well. Think a handsome cross between Tom Waits and the young Elvis, and realise that he’s still only 24. So close your eyes and head down South to the unmistakable sound of Parker Millsap.

“I wasn’t prepared for the wild, vast power of his voice and his remarkable charisma. This guy can yodel, he can sing a soul song for real, he can preach and he wiggles his leg like Elvis. A star in the making.”
