A look inside a world lacking true connection
Our communication is increasingly digital. What influence does this have on us, on our contacts and our intimacy? Will our capacity to form true, intimate relationships be compromised by digital communication? Musician Esther de Jong wrote the song ‘Vitrine’ and together with director Evelien van Arke based the musical mime performance In de vitrine (In the showcase) on this. Together with the performers and musicians, they create an absurd and alienated world, where real connections are never laid, and we behave in our relations with others just like we do in our digital communication. Take a look inside this cutaway world, where true contact is missed out on.
This production was created in the framework of the Up North interdisciplinary laboratory.
