Nice to meet you, what do you do?

For a full 12 hours, workers from Groningen take centre-stage.

In 12 Last Songs, award-winning theatre collective Quarantine bring together people from Groningen with various jobs: a builder might build a wall, a hairdresser might cut someone’s hair, a chef might prepare a meal… We’ll find out what they do, and how they see themselves in the world.

Meanwhile, a performer moves through the Noorderplantsoen and the city. Live images of people on the move, at work, celebrating, or simply eating a meal appear on screens in the space. These twelve hours turn into a portrait of a city, built from the different workers that inhabit it. Quarantine have been welcome guests at Noorderzon for years and are known for their human, curious view of the everyday. 12 Last Songs is an experience you can’t miss – it will only be staged for a total of twelve times worldwide, and is custom-made for each city.

This durational performance takes place over 12 hours, and audiences can come and go as they please during that time, using the same ticket.

Ticket sales for this performance start on July 4 at 12:00 PM.

Endlessly surprising – and often moving. It’s a reminder that all lives are extraordinary in their ordinariness.
