This aerial pole performance explores the concept of "home" through movement and dance. Many people across the globe loose their physical home every year- be it through war, natural disasters or financial reasons. This performance wants to inspire the viewer to think about the non-physical things in our life that can make us feel at home, give us a feeling of belonging. Who or what makes you feel at home? Maybe it`s your family, freinds, maybe your pet? This performance wants to propose that we can find this feeling in many ways- even within oursel
Buitenkans Buitenkans (loosely: "Golden Opportunity") is Noorderzon's new development track. Driven by artistic curiosity, courage, and the need to explore what a performance can be outside the walls of a theatre, we launched an Open Call in February, which resulted in a huge number of applications. Three makers were selected and given the space to develop new ideas.
You'll experience the results of this track during the festival: three new performances that use public space as their playing field and actively seek out the unexpected. Work in progress, made for a curious audience and a festival environment where encounter, surprise, and experimentation take centre stage. Where and when? You'll find out as you go!
Hanna was born in Germany and raised in an intercultural household (german/syrian). She moved to the Netherlands 4 yours ago for her Master´s degree in Plant Sciences. During her Master studies she came in contact with the sport of pole dancing through the university sports center. Last year she decided to buy an aerial pole and start practicing this variation of the sport. What she enjoys most about aerial arts is the freedom of movement and the opportunity of creative expression.
