Top sport beneath the trees of the Noorderplantsoen

Le Patin Libre, founded by former competitive figure skaters from Montréal, trades blades for wheels, and let themselves be carried along by the sound of a cello. Glitter, scores and competition are far away: they exchange them for playing on the rough concrete. Beneath the trees of the Noorderplantsoen, on Noorderzon's new outdoor stage, their ‘free skates’ take on an extra summery dimension.

For more than ten years, Le Patin Libre has been developing a distinctive, surprising form of contemporary choreography at the intersection of sport and performance. In theatres, on squares and in unexpected urban spaces worldwide, they break all the laws of nature. In Wheels and Cello they once again push the boundaries of what a body in motion can be: fast, precise and completely liberated.
