The programme features artists from fourteen countries, exploring themes such as labour, migration, technology, collective memory, democracy and the body. The festival opens with Deaf Republic by Irish collective Dead Centre, an internationally acclaimed contemporary fable about war, silence and collective resistance. Other featured artists include Mario Banushi, Ant Hampton, Patricia Apergi, Susie Wang, Marco Mendonça, Lagartijas Tiradas al Sol, Oulouy and Louis Vanhaverbeke.

The programme also includes a number of ambitious installations and participatory projects, including Trànsit by Cabosanroque, a children's museum created by Andy Field and Beckie Darlington, and a spectacular open-air performance by Le Patin Libre in the Noorderplantsoen park.

Artistic Director Mark Yeoman: "With this programme, Noorderzon continues to build on its international reputation as a festival that identifies exceptional new voices in theatre and dance at an early stage. Artists from fourteen countries explore what shapes us as human beings and, hopefully, what can bring us closer together."

Noorderzon Festival of Performing Arts & Society takes place from 20–30 August 2026 in Groningen. The full festival programme, including music, literature, lectures, talks and children's activities, will be announced over the coming weeks. General ticket sales for the complete programme begin on 4 July.
