TIP 1: She stands in the middle of the battlefield - Magda Szpecht

Why does a Ukrainian theatre-maker decide to become a soldier? What starts as a personal question – how do you relate to a friend, a sister, who leaves for the front – grows into a probing search into responsibility, conviction, and the limits of solidarity. Drawing on letters, voice messages, chats, videos, and research material, a layered portrait emerges of a woman's daily life in wartime. Not as a hero's tale, but as a concrete, often painful reality in which idealism, exhaustion, and moral doubt are constantly intertwined.

TIP 3: Women beyond the norm with Susie Wang, Magda Szpecht & Friederike Schubert - Shifting Grounds  RUG/Arts in Society
History has countless ways of describing women who fall outside the norm: hysterical, irrational, dangerous, or mad. But what happens when artists put exactly these figures centre stage? Two Noorderzon performances explore this – through a soldier, a horror figure, a woman who refuses to fit in. Agata Różycka and Szymon Adamczak (on behalf of Magda Szpecht), Trine Falch (of Susie Wang), and Friederike Schubert (dramaturg at NITE) discuss women who leave the beaten path.
